Nobody Likes Me

Nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I'll go eat worms. Why would you want to eat worms if nobody likes you? Is it so you can get sick and emphasize the fact that nobody likes you when no one comes to make sure you're alright? And why worms? Why not spiders? Was it easier to rhyme or something? This just makes no sense! I mean, rock a bye baby on the tree top? Why is the baby on the tree top and who put it up there? And why would you want to sing your own baby to sleep with a song of a baby falling from a tree? Was it a symbol of falling into sleep? And isn't ring around the rosy about everyone dying? I think of these things and I ask you: Why do we teach our children such horrifying songs?

  1. I heard these songs when I was a kid, and I never thought they were horrible! I liked them.

  2. Why did the Grimm Brothers tell such horrifying stories? To teach a lesson that life is tough.
