Awana Summer Event #3- Camping Trip!

Hey all! Last weekend the Awana highschool group took a little camping trip. It was a lot of fun. The first day we played munchkin, and that was probably the main thing we did. That night no one but Davis and Mandi slept at all because 1) the people camping next to us were very loud and stayed up till all hours of the night and 2) it was very very very cold!!! Anyway, we all got up around 6:30 am and the whole while I was trying to sleep I would glance up occasionally to see if it was light yet. It was then that I appreciated sleep more because I realized that if we didn't sleep we would probably be more bored than ever. The next morning we warmed up by the fire and then we went hiking up to the lake which was pretty. After we ate lunch we hiked back down and I watched the guys play munchkin while we waited for Andryw to get there, and around three we hiked up the trail to a panoramic view which was probably just a large backdrop... at least that's what many people said it looked like. When we got back to our campsite we ate supper and then we had our bible study and then I read the Raven to everyone while they roasted marshmallows. After this we played Maffia of which Laurel kept accusing me as the killer when I wasn't really.... That night I held up my towel to the fire for a while and then stuffed it into the bottom of my sleeping bag, wore my clothes over my pajamas, put on two pares of socks and the girls all lined up on one side of the tent to keep each other warm and that night we all had a much better sleep. The next morning we packed up and headed back to church and I waited with Taylor, Davis and Katie for our parents who were in church at the time. I had a lot of fun, and I hope we get to do it again next year. :-D
